In 2014 she directed the movie Good Woman for wich she wrote the screenplay. Mirjana was nominated for the Best Actress in Europe. She was a member of the jury at festivals in Sarajevo, Thessaloniki, Karlovy Vary… She has won numerous awards at international film and theater festivals around the world. She worked with the greatest directors of Yugoslavian and Serbian film, such as Goran Markovic, Lordan Zafranovic, Boro Draskovic, Veljko Bulajic, Zika Pavlovic, Goran Paskaljevic, Branko Baletic… She acted in about 40 feature films in Yugoslavia, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo and Switzerland and in around 100 theater projects. She gaind worldwide fame with her role as a mother in the Emir Kusturica’s movie Father on a business trip (Golden Arena and Palme d’Or award, 1985). with the title role in Srdjan Karanovic’s movie Petria’s Wreath (Golden Arena award winner).
Mirjana has directed three plays, 4.48 Psychosis (by Sarah Kane) in Bitef theater, We are the ones our parents warned us about (by Tanja Sljivar) in Bosnian National Theater in Zenica and Julija produced by Heartefact in Bitef theater. she taught acting at the Belgrade Academy of Arts as a full-time professor. I also suggest Partizan movies like Kad Čuješ Zvone, they show the horrors of WW2 but have funny and emotional moments. Kursadžije is on youtube and involves former yugoslav countries being represented by students at a police school, one of the funniest, and lots of great dirty jokes and cultural references. Selo Gori A Baba Se Ćešlja is an absolute classic. Now for some serije, Kamionđije is about two truck drivers, very funny and entertaining. Ovčar is from 1971 and can be found on youtube, it's about a group of Bosnian shepherds who go to Serbia and get in trouble with people, the end is by far the best and it is extremely unexpected and gives you the butterflies and an utter sense of panic. Ivkova Slava is a newer one, highly suggest, great music, heartwarming. I haven't watched it since I was 6, almost 10 years ago! I need to rewatch it so I'll understand all the references and sexual humour. Dom Za Vešanje AKA In The Time Of The Gypsies, is about a gypsy boy from Sarajevo who gets involved with crime in Italy, its very sad and has an amazing soundtrack, I consider it a masterpiece.
